I Tracked Sneaker Prices for 30 Days — Here's What I Found

Updated 6 October 2026 · Based on 130 sneakers across Amazon, Flipkart & Myntra

Every e-commerce site claims to have the "best deal." But how do you know if that ₹1,499 price tag on a pair of sneakers is actually a good deal, or just a marketing trick?

We built StyleScout to answer that question. For the last 30 days, our system has tracked the daily prices of 130 sneakers across Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra. Here's what we learned.

Finding #1: Puma Discounts the Most, and It's Not Close

We compared the average discount percentage across all major brands in our database. The results were clear: Puma runs the most aggressive discounts in India.

BrandAverage DiscountBest Example
Puma35–65%Flyer Flex (63% off)
Adidas15–45%VS Pace 2.0 (57% off)
Skechers10–40%Equalizer 5.0 (75% off)
Campus / Sparx10–30%Sparx SM-323 (25% off)
Nike5–20%Revolution 7 (11% off)

If you want maximum value, buy Puma or Skechers during a sale. If you want something that holds its value and rarely goes on deep discount, buy Nike.

Finding #2: Amazon Is Usually Cheapest, But Flipkart Wins During Sales

On a normal day, Amazon has the lowest price on about 70% of the sneakers we track. Flipkart is cheapest on 20%, and Myntra wins on 10% (usually for specific colorways).

However, during festival sales (Big Billion Days, Great Indian Festival), Flipkart frequently undercuts Amazon by ₹100–300 on the same sneakers. It's always worth checking both before you buy.

Finding #3: The "Fake Discount" Problem Is Real

One of the biggest surprises: many sneakers show a "was ₹4,999, now ₹999" discount that's technically fake. The shoe was never actually sold at ₹4,999 — the MRP is inflated to make the discount look bigger.

We use price history tracking to filter these out. For example, the Boldfit Lightweight currently shows 78% off (₹3,999 to ₹899). We verified the ₹3,999 MRP, but the shoe has been sitting at ₹899 for months — it's not a "new drop" deal. It's just a good everyday price.

Finding #4: The Best Time to Buy Is End of Season

Prices drop most during two periods: end of summer (May–June) and festival sales (September–October). During these windows, the same sneakers that sell for ₹1,500 can drop to ₹900–1,100.

If you're not in a hurry, waiting for one of these windows can save you 20–30% on almost any sneaker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there really a difference in price between Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra?

Yes. In our 30-day tracking, the price for the same sneaker varied by up to ₹500 between the three stores on any given day. Checking all three before buying can save you real money.

Do sneaker prices go down over time?

Sometimes, but not always. Popular shoes like Nike Air Max or Adidas Samba often increase in price as stock runs out. Budget shoes like Campus or Sparx tend to stay stable. It depends on the specific model.
